Diverse Image Captioning with Context Object Split Latent Spaces
The word dimension for the embedding layer is 300. In Tab. 7 we further evaluate the diversity of COS-CVAE using self-CIDEr We provide additional qualitative results in Tabs. In Tab. 12 we show the divserse captions for novel objects generated by our model and the regions The evaluation server for nocaps accepts only one caption per image and does not support methods modeling one-to-many relationships for images and captions. In Figure 1 (left) we show the average accuracy and diversity scores again averaged across annotators; in Figure 1 (right) we show the accuracy and diversity scores from each annotator. We find that the captions generated by the COS-CV AE are scored to be more accurate compared to COS-CV AE (paired).

This Custom Drone Whooshes Closer to the Snowboarding Action
Filming a top-level backcountry snowboarding event presents distinct technical challenges. The action moves all over the mountain; riders navigate through groups of trees, sail over jumps, and carve around obstacles, all the while making split-second adjustments to their speed and direction. The unpredictable and fast-paced nature of the competition can leave even the most talented camera operators struggling to keep up. For Travis Rice and Liam Griffin, the organizers of the Natural Selection Tour, this issue was compounded by the fact that they wanted to broadcast their event live. The annual three-stop jamboree sees a hand-picked field of the world's top snowboarders (eight women and 16 men) compete at specially selected courses in Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Alaska; and British Columbia.

Hi-tech ski helmet that allows skiers to video call friends on trial
A high-tech augmented reality ski helmet which includes GPS, a speedometer and the ability video call friends on the slopes is being tested in Austria. Former Israeli Air Force pilot Alon Getz helped design the new cutting-edge technology as part of his start-up company RideOn. He said: 'I'm a software engineer, doing a lot of computer-vision and Artificial Intelligence. I was working in the defence industry leading Augmented Reality projects for the military. 'I'm also a snowboarder who goes snowboarding almost every year in the Alps.

This week in games: Katamari Damacy finally rolls onto PCs, Tencent's snowboarding battle royale
With the amount of news out of Japan this week, you'd think Tokyo Game Show had already started. That didn't stop a flood of trailers though, including new footage of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Project Judge, a new game from the Yakuza devs. Other than that, an avalanche of weirdness this week: Alan Wake's headed to TV, Pathologic 2 showed off its creepy village, Katamari Damacy's coming to PC, Assassin's Creed III is getting a remaster (for some reason), and Tencent brought a literal avalanche with its snowboarding battle royale game Ring of Elysium. This is gaming news for September 10 to 14. Much to my surprise, Focus's Call of Cthulhu is one of my most anticipated games in the back half of 2018.
Big Data 101.1-Visions-AI-"We Are Legion, We Are Bob" - Big Data Beard
My family and I just completed our annual pre-Christmas pilgrimage to ski and snowboard in Colorado. For the ride we listened to "We Are Legion, We Are Bob" by Dennis E. Taylor. "We are Legion…" is the story of Bob Johansson, an entrepreneur software developer who in the process of setting up for his future, on the eve of selling his company, signs up for cryonic freezing in the event of his death. Bob is subsequently killed by a car and wakes up as a "replicant" AI 117 years into a dystopian world on the brink of mutually assured destruction. Bob is given the task of becoming a self-replicating, interstellar probe to claim habitable planets in an international space race.

How An Allegedly Fake Video Killed A Much-Hyped Drone Startup
The Lily Camera, a throw-and-shoot camera, is displayed during CES Unveiled at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in Jan. 2016. On Dec. 20, Lily Robotics was up against a wall. It was five days before Christmas, and dozens of eager customers who had spent more than $499 to pre-order the company's flagship product were wondering if they were ever going to see it. A San Francisco-based startup that had promised to build an autonomous flying camera, Lily was among the most-anticipated consumer hardware companies in Silicon Valley. In May 2015, its splashy launch video, featuring a four-propeller robot whizzing around a kayaker and snowboarder, went viral and was watched 5.3 million times in its first month.
